Individuals

My areas of practice with individuals includes adults, adolescents, and older adults. I have particular expertise working with LGBTQIA+ clients, and with clients experiencing loss or grief. The majority of my work is with individuals who have experienced trauma and/or live with persistent mood fluctuation/dysregulation (including cycling through depression and anxiety). I also work well with folks who struggle with a driving sense of perfectionism and anxiety related to achievement.

While I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy that favors clarity and insight, I believe that change and relief does not come from insight alone. Drawing on EMDR, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and expressive arts therapy, among others, I strive to facilitate greater connection to your emotional and physical experience, which is the level at which change can occur.

How we work together will depend on what we collaboratively decide to be the most effective approach for your needs. Therapy is a joint effort between therapist and client, and I invite feedback about my methods and our rapport.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
